Golden hour at Discovery Park creates the most dreamiest warm light for family photos - I just love it! My favorite family sessions are the ones where we just go out and explore and play together and this session did not disappoint. In city adventures are the best kind and I'm so glad to have Discovery Park in my own backyard. This beautiful light is exactly why I do my photo sessions one hour before sunset. Those sun drenched rays are so inspiring and make me excited to make great pictures. We could not have asked for a better early spring evening in Seattle!

Long days in the Pacific Northwest are the best. The extended daylight hours in the evening make the perfect time for a fun stroll with your favorite neighborhood photographer. There's something so personal about photographs of you in the place where you live. The photograph tells a deeper story and one that your future generations will treasure.

This past summer I photographed my immediate family in my parents neighborhood, the neighborhood I grew up in from age 7. I have so many memories on this street. This street feels like going home. I wanted to photograph my growing family in the place we all know and love. We took a stroll during golden hour, an hour before the sunset, to get the perfect lighting. Below are just a few snaps of my sisters family. Bicycles would have also been a super cute photo prop and activity for the kids!

My family has been vacationing in Palm Springs for the past 4 years in a row. We love it there simply because it's a short flight, it's warm and relaxing. Palm Springs has become a special place for us because it's the only place we ever go so I wanted to capture my family in the neighborhood where we stay. Neighborhood walks are such a fun activity for a family session. The scenery is always familiar and captures that feeling of home (or in our case, "vacation home"). I'm really in love with neighborhood family photo sessions - shoot me an email if you interested in having your own family photographed in the place that you live. I'd love to photography families at a favorite second home neighborhood in the San Juan Islands or the Western Peninsula in Washington State.

Working with bloggers in and around Seattle is one of my favorite type of sessions. Bloggers always bring so much creativity to the shoot. Part of being a blogger means that you're creating content to inspire readers so there's always lots of details. When picking a location for your blogger session, it's good to choose a place that is versatile so you can get a few different looks without having to go far. Many neighborhoods in Seattle have a good urban area, residential area and park area that make it easy to be able to walk short distances to get a completely different vibe for each different look. Kaitlyn, from Kaity Roses, is always so fun to work with and I love her fall looks below.

Christina is a stylist and blogger that I got to work with on a couple of different projects. The first was a collaboration she was doing with a wine company. She contacted a cafe ahead of our shoot to ask if we could photograph this project ahead of time. We needed a place that had a lot of natural light as well as a stylish interior. Jujubeet Cafe in Bellevue was the perfect fit. While we were there, we ordered a couple of lattes and I can say that this place knows how to make a good drink (the secret is all in how you steam the milk)!

Next, Christina wanted an exciting picture to use for her newsletter subscription on her blog. She brought confetti and I was stoked. Give me all the sparkle and shine! This definitely took more than a few tries as we had unexpected wind blowing the confetti all over the place.

It's always a good idea when creating content for your business, blog, Instagram, etc, to shoot multiple projects in one day. It maximizes time while working with a photographer.

Kaitlyn of Kaity Roses is one of my favorite Seattle Lifestyle Bloggers to work with. She loves to be making food in the kitchen which pairs nicely with one of my favorite things to do: eat yummy food! If you're a blogger working with a photographer, I always recommend shooting several pieces of content in one day. It's the best way to maximize your time which is important if you're posting fresh content daily. In this session, we photographed 2 different outfits and 2 different dishes. We were able to photograph the food items in Kaitlyn's kitchen because she has several large windows letting in tons of natural light which is key for any indoor natural light photography.
One more tip, if you can (and you always can) bring flowers!
